new hat, old towel

since i have been reorganizing all of my creative supplies, i found a project that needed to be finished and one that i really wanted to start. last night while j was reading i decided to finish up this towel i started for **insert secret name here** about 8 months ago.

its not a very nice job since the towel i chose to work with turned out to be of very poor quality. i also must have been pretty tired last night because there are some rough parts in the “monday” portion of the design. ohhh well, the person meant to receive it might even like it better because of its imperfections.

 this morning after i got some good old fashioned cleaning out of the way, i decided to make this hat.

i wanted to make a hat like this after seeing a friend of mine wearing one like it the other day. while i was browsing this blog, i found this great tutorial. great instructions, fun hat. i love it.

i made a shirt out of the red fabric two summers ago and have practically worn it out. i didnt have much left of the fabric but loved it so much, that i decided to hang on to it. im glad i did because i think it works quite well as a hat lining. (oh yes, this hat is reversible)

i hope to be caught up in the basement soon and start on some baby stuff but i am having a harder and harder time being on my feet for very long. i guess i need to work on some handwork. i think i may have overdone it a bit this week,  i have been getting a lot of braxton hicks and im pretty sore… guess i should have listened to alicia when she told me i maybe shouldnt tear paneling down off the walls 🙂 unfortunately, sitting doesnt feel that great either. I hate sitting still! hmmmm… i should start the quilt for the baby room today…..
